Draft — requires review by the campaign owner before publication.
Who is responsible
Thank a Man (thankaman.org / takkenmann.org / tackaenman.org) is an awareness campaign initiated by Dragonhood, which is responsible for the processing described here.
Photos and the image creator
When you create an appreciation post or profile picture frame, your photo and text are processed in your own browser. They are not uploaded to our servers, and we do not store them.
Downloading or sharing your image does not send it to us.
Gallery submissions
If you choose to submit a post to the gallery, we store the finished image, the message, your chosen display name (or anonymity preference), an optional link to your social post, the consent you gave and when you gave it.
An optional contact email is stored separately and is visible only to moderators.
If you suggest a social media post, we store its link, the platform, the name or handle you ask us to credit, an optional excerpt, the consent you gave and an optional private contact email. We don't copy the post's images.
Submissions are reviewed before publication. Only approved posts are public. You can request removal at any time; we will then remove the post and associated data.
Email updates
If you subscribe, we store your email address, preferred language, the consent text version and the time you subscribed. We use this only to send Thank a Man campaign updates.
You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email or on our unsubscribe page. We may use an email service provider to send messages on our behalf.
Analytics
We count anonymous events, such as page visits, images created, downloads and share attempts, to understand whether the campaign works. We don't use advertising cookies, don't store IP addresses with these events, and don't track you across other websites. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we don't count your visit.
Abuse prevention
To prevent spam, we temporarily keep a one-way hashed version of the network address for form submissions. These records are deleted automatically within 24 hours.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Norway: Datatilsynet).
To exercise your rights, use the removal request form on the stories page, the unsubscribe page, or contact us.
Retention and deletion
Rejected submissions are deleted after review. Approved submissions are kept while the gallery exists or until you ask us to remove them. Subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe; unsubscribed addresses are kept only as long as needed to respect your choice.
